Vabs’ Weekend Wisdom: Addicted…
Hi my name is Brian Vabulas and I’m an addict. No, not to drugs or alcohol, but to a mobile word game called “Words with Friends”. (iTunes / Andriod) I know that this is not as serious as other addictions, but nonetheless I can’t help my love for it.
It’s like Scrabble, and you can play whomever you want – online. I play with Friends – hence the name. Each word is scored. The best part is that you can play when you have time – if you have a busy Saturday – no moves need to be made. If you have a lazy Saturday, make a move as quickly as you and your friends can play. You may just have to make time, to make your moves and beat your friends.
Who doesn’t like healthy competition at your leisure. I love this game. I play it before work, I play it at lunch, I play it on the way home, I play it during dinner, I play it when I’m sleeping. When I walk around I see the game board the way Neo sees the Matrix. I may have to get help soon….
Hey if you want to play just let me know, I’m game.

Hugs and Pullups… The Movie?
Hello everyone,
Sure live performance is amazing. It lets artists create something new every show, and the joy is in finding the humor in the random situation.
But, there is no money in it. AKA, we want a Hugs and Pullups movie. There’s money in licensing, action figures, posters, and of course, box office sales.
Think you could beat the Hugs and Pullups videogame? I think not.
My question to you fans… who would play the members of Hugs and Pullups? Some choices are obvious, like the office’s Rainn Wilson for Vabs, Matthew Broderick for JVB, and for Meg, Morgan Freeman.
Take some time, and help me to put together a cast that would truly represent Hugs and Pullups. I’ll draft the proposal letters and we should get this green lit by 2012.

Vabs’ Weekend Wisdom: Too Organic?
How organic is too organic? Many of my family and friends strongly subscribe to the philosophy that organic food is better for you and will help you live forever. I think that’s wonderful, but if you’ve seen the Green Mile, you may want to rethink that philosophy (that’s another post for another day). I stumbled upon this article last week (Baby Gaga) and it seems we are pushing the limits… Breast Milk Ice Cream?
Really?
That sounds like a bit too much for me… This is coming from someone who loves to eat pretty much anything. I think there is too much of a good thing in this land. I think it’s time to say, we have taken “Organic” a bit too far?

How do you tell someone you don’t know their fly is down?
On the train ride home last night there was a young man standing opposite of me in the door way. We were doing that thing where we try our hardest not to make eye contact since we were so close. Then it happened. In an attempt to look anywhere but his face, but also in an attempt to not stare at one thing for too long in fear of looking like a lunatic, I did the head roll down. I basically pretended there was a large bubble around his head which forced my eyes to roll down across the floor. A pretty standard move I have executed flawlessly in many such situations. This time however, my eyes rolled right over the thighs and I saw the lowered zipper. What to do? What to do? Can I honestly tell him his fly is down? Wouldn’t that seem weird.
“Hey guy! I know we aren’t too close, but still close enough to feel uncomfortable because we are men damn it. Aaaaanywho, I was executing a roll….., oh you saw that? Yeah pretty standard. Anyways I happened to look at your thighs and isn’t it the darndest thing. I saw your fly is all the way down. You might want to get on that. Well here is my transfer. I hope we never meet again.”
Needless to say, I said nothing. If he is like me he will check it within 20 minutes, be none the wiser and I won’t have embarrassed him. Have you recently found your fly down? Am I talking about you?
